Atlas of Franklin and Grand Isle Counties, Vermont, from actual surveys by and under the direction of F. W. Beers, was published by F. W. Beers & Co. of New York in 1871, one of the twelve Beers county atlases that between them mapped every town in Vermont. This edition is a complete facsimile, printed in full color, so the hand-colored maps and every page of the original are reproduced as issued.

After the map of Vermont and the plan of the two counties comes a map of every town, each lettered with the name of every landowner and showing the roads, rivers, railroads, mills, churches and schoolhouses of 1871. Franklin County: Highgate, Franklin, Berkshire, Richford, Swanton, Sheldon, Enosburgh, Montgomery, Averys Gore, St. Albans, Fairfield, Bakersfield, Georgia, Fairfax and Fletcher. Grand Isle County: Alburgh, Isle La Motte, North Hero, Grand Isle and South Hero. The city of St. Albans is mapped on a large plate of its own.

Village plans with business notices cover St. Albans, St. Albans Bay, Swanton, Highgate, Highgate Center, East Highgate, Franklin, East Franklin, East and West Berkshire, Richford, Sheldon, East Sheldon, Enosburgh, Enosburgh Falls, East and West Enosburgh, Montgomery, Montgomery Center, Fairfield, East Fairfield, Bakersfield, Georgia, East and West Georgia, Fairfax, Fairfax Falls, North Fairfax, Fletcher, Alburgh, Alburgh Center, Alburgh Springs, Isle La Motte, North Hero, Grand Isle and South Hero, together with the histories of both counties and the tables of distances, heights and statistics.

An essential reference for genealogists, house historians, and collectors of Franklin County, Grand Isle County and Lake Champlain history.
