This is a faithful color reproduction of the Atlas of Atlantic City, New Jersey, originally published in 1896 by A.H. Mueller & Co. of Philadelphia, compiled and drawn from official plans and actual surveys by civil engineers Ellis Kiser and O. Barthel.

Reproduced in full color from the original plates, this atlas maps the New Jersey shore's Ten Mile Beach from the Inlet to Longport at the height of its late-nineteenth-century resort boom. Its detailed lot-and-block plates show individual property owners, street layouts, ward boundaries, rail lines, piers, and shorefront development along the barrier island.

Because this is a city atlas rather than a county plat atlas, its plates work at the street and lot level — well suited to house history research, tracing named property holders, and reconstructing the early development of the boardwalk resorts.

Coverage includes:

  • Atlantic City — all wards, mapped block by block from the Inlet through Chelsea
  • South Atlantic City (later Margate)
  • Ventnor
  • Oberon
  • Longport
  • Outline and index map of the full Ten Mile Beach from Inlet to Longport, keyed to the atlas plates

An essential reference for genealogists, historians, and collectors of New Jersey, the Jersey Shore, and Atlantic City history.

42 pages. 8.5" x 11". Full color. Paperback.
